We miss you Papa!

I can meet any Filipino around the world and they always ask me, "Floro? How are you related to Danny Floro?" I always proudly answer, "He's my grandfather!"
How I wish I was around during those times when viewers of the PBA knew what it was like to be fans through and through. When people from all walks of life would come together and cheer their teams on to victory and be there to stand by them during defeat. I always love hearing stories from my mom about those days, it was pretty amazing.
Cheers to you Papa! I love you and miss you dearly!

Here are a few links paying tribute to Papa and other sites if you want to get to know more about an amazing man...

Crown and Crumpet Tea Room

My third addition to San Frantastico...
Suzanne with her twins Marcus and Vincent in Crown and Crumpet Tea Room

Think Stepford Wives meets Interview with the Vampire...

Suzanne says "Now hurry and eat up boys! You don't want to let a bloody fine cake go to waste!
Oh, by the way...Daddy isn't making it home for dinner."

The Mad Monkey Musician in Stern Grove

Here's my second addition to San Frantastico,
Mad Monkey Musician in Stern Grove

Erythrocebus Patas, the Mad Monkey Musician is a Patas Monkey at the San Francisco Zoo. This is a photo of him during some down time from his day job at the zoo. He often gets tired of acting like an animal at the zoo and so, he escapes to Stern Grove to play his violin and listen to some classical music.

Credits and Thanks to:
Gregangelo Herrera and Jeffrey Ferns
Dharkhijav Damba for the Make-up
and Dominic Colacchio for being the maddest monkey!

Dynamo Donuts

Dynamo Donuts...So good it's a crime!

I first heard about Dynamo Donut and Coffee from a friend of mine from LA. It was part of his "must-try" list on a food trip he was planning on doing here in SF. After some research for this project, the name kept coming up...Dynamo, Dynamo, DYNAMO! This place was on every "best-of", "try-before- you- die" San Francisco list I read about. Their donuts are as unique, quirky and extraordinary as San Francisco gets. They are well known for their maple glazed bacon donut (the star in the photograph above). Let me tell you though, all the flavors are worth tasting.  Stop by the shop and be greeted by the warm and helpful staff.

To Sara and the whole crew at Dynamo, THANK YOU! It was such a delight working with you all! Cheers to more new and exciting flavors to come!!!

Heart Countdown

It's right around the corner and in honor of the day of hearts, I'm posting a bunch of things that have caught my eye around the city as SF celebrates Valentine's Day.

never knew Winnie the Pooh was that romantic...

They don't know
What they're on about
Those fools
Don't get my dreams
And I want it, I want it, I want it
And I want it, I want it, I want it
When you can't wait
To watch me fall
Singin' stories on a wrecking ball
Colliding fast
To bring you down
If you want it, you want it, you want it
If you want it, you want it, you want it
Things we build
To fall
And I want it, I want it, I want it
And I want it, I want it, I want it

Catching up with my Keel's Simple Diary Quotes:

Let's be spontaneous.

Not every bridge wants to be crossed.

Technology fooled us.

The longer the kiss, the more they miss.

You like potato, I like potato, we like French fries.

Boring and elightening are the stages of solitude.

What you want is less than you could wish for.

The ideal is provocative.

Some simply suggest.

Think about being more thoughtful.
